Hello Sunday School Families! This Sunday the 29th will be our first Family Faith 5 of the year! What this means is that parents, older siblings (even if they're in confirmation), and even grandparents stick around the whole time! We start with a couple of songs, talk in groups about the lesson the kids have been learning (Creation this time), and then do some sort of activity or craft. So please plan on attending as a family on the 29th! Our first Friday Night Party is coming up October 18th! 1st-5th graders and friends are welcome to come to this Reformation themed party! We'll talk about ol' Martin Luther--founder of the Lutheran church--and play some games, too! And dinner will be more than just a Diet of Worms (<--that's a Lutheran joke, right there). We'll eat dinner, learn, and party! Don't forget to invite friends! Sign up here or on the FLC App under the Sunday School tab. Sign up deadline: Sun, Oct. 13th. Minimum attendees: 10. Lastly, we are planning a trip to Feed My Starving Children in Coon Rapids, MN on Nov. 2nd. This is a great place for people of all ages to volunteer! Grab a friend, invite a neighbor, and sign up today! We hope to send a group of 25. You must be able to stand for 2 hours. Minimum age is 5; an adult must accompany kids in grades K-2. We will caravan from church at 9:30 and arrive home about 2:45. A few notes in case you haven't been around: Photo Waiver: We are getting caught up with the times and are asking families to approve our use of photos for First Lutheran social media and marketing. If you're cool with it, we'll need your signature. Stop by the Sunday School room in the coming Sundays to do so! Mystery Kid: We're adding some fun to Sunday mornings and to our monthly church newsletter, The Messenger. Snack Sign Up: Families sign up to provide snack and drink every week; just something simple! We still have Nov. 24th & Jan. 5th open. Any takers? Just reply to this email. No experience is necessary, and you get to follow along with a super easy curriculum that we provide (or you can make your own lesson/project, too!
