Hello Sunday School Families! This coming Sunday is our Hurricane Hike! Kids and families will be walking around Amery to raise awareness and hopefully raise some money for Bahamas Hurricane Relief. Please come dressed in First Lutheran shirts (they may have to be on over sweatshirts/coats!) and bring strollers & wagons. We'll be dismissed after the children's sermon and start our walk around town; we'll be carrying the signs the kids made in church on Sunday (see photos here). Also, bring your offering boxes back on Sunday for our special offering for Hurricane Relief.  The Reformation Party is THIS FRIDAY! Yay! Dinner will be served right away at 5:30 followed by a party that Martin Luther would be proud of. I've left the sign up open if you still want to sign up; the more the merrier! For us to keep planning, we need to know whether or not your child is able to be in the Christmas program. Committee Meeting (tentatively set) 9:00 Worship with your family Don't forget your offering boxes for the special offering benefiting Hurricane Relief efforts in the Bahamas 9:30 Hurricane Hike! We'll be dismissed from church early to do our Hike around Amery. Dress appropriately & bring strollers/wagons. We'll do our hike and have a snack when we get back.  Rainy Day Plan: Stay for worship, then "hike" around church. Enjoy fellowship with family; no class after hike. October 18th | 5:30-7:30 1st-5th graders are welcome to come to our first Friday Night Party of the year! And this one is Reformation themed! We'll talk about ol' Martin Luther--founder of the Lutheran church--and play some games, too! And dinner will be more than just a Diet of Worms (<--that's a Lutheran joke, right there). Hurricane Hike October 20th | During Worship & Sunday School All church youth will walk around Amery to raise awareness & funds for hurricane relief in the Bahamas. Wear your First Lutheran t-shirts (over your sweatshirts & coats!), bring strollers & wagons, and lace up your walkin' shoes! We'll leave after the children's sermon in worship & hike around town. Sunday schoolers should bring their offering boxes to worship. Feed My Starving Children November 2nd | 9:30-2:45 | 11:00-12:30 shift Join your church family as we volunteer at Feed My Starving Children in Coon Rapids, MN! Grab a friend, invite a neighbor, and sign up today! We hope to send a group of 25. You must be able to stand for 2 hours. Minimum age is 5; an adult must accompany kids in grades K-2. We will caravan from church at 9:30 and arrive home about 2:45. Bring some money for lunch out after we finish volunteering.
